Peacemaker continues, Variety is reporting that Alison Araya (
Riverdale) and Lenny Jacobson (
For All Mankind) have signed on for recurring roles in the DC series as a married couple called Amber and Evan.

The Suicide Squad,
Peacemaker sees John Cena reprising his role as the titular character, a pacifist who is so committed to peace that he is willing to fight – and kill – in order to achieve it.
Peacemaker has been written by
The Suicide Squad director James Gunn, who is also directing an unspecified number of episodes, and sees Cena and new additions Araya and Jacobson joined in the cast by

Back in September, Warner Bros. revealed that it’s spinning off Peacemaker, John Cena’s character from James Gunn’s
The Suicide Squad into his own series.
It’s part of a strategy on the part of the studio to build up its library of original content for its streaming service, HBO Max, and it looks as though it’s moving along a number of actors have joined the cast in the last couple of months, and we now know when it’ll begin streaming: January 2022.
The series will follow Cena’s character, Christopher Smith/the Peacemaker, a superhero who believes in peace at all costs no matter how many people he has to kill. The character will appear in
Goliath), and Nhut Le (
While details about
Peacemaker are being kept under wraps, the series will explore the origins of the character that Cena will play in the upcoming film, a man who believes in peace at any cost no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. The series will extend the world that Gunn is creating for
The Suicide Squad movie, which is scheduled to be released in theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 6, 2021.
Gunn wrote all eight episodes of
Peacemaker and is set to direct multiple episodes. He also serves as executive producer on the project along with the film’s producer Peter Safran. Cena will co-executive produce.

They join previously announced series lead John Cena as well as series regulars Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Araya and Jacobson will play the married couple Amber and Evan respectively.

Jacobson previously starred in “Narcos: Mexico” at Netflix and is currently working on “For All Mankind” at Apple. He has also been on shows like”Big Time in Hollywood, FL,” and “Nurse Jackie” as well as films like “Bumblebee” and “Like Father.”
