Donny S Rowlinson, 42, of Dansville charged with felony sex crimes

The Sheriff’s Office said it began investigating Rowlinson last month after two people came forward to report alleged incidents from the summer of 2014, when both were less than 13 years old. The accusations include claims that Rowlinson had sexual intercourse with one of the two while exposing the other to sexual contact. “Further details of this case are being withheld to protect the victims,” said Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. April 23, 2021 By Jon King / jking@whmi.com A Detroit man accused of armed robbery and fleeing from police in late 2019 has been sentenced. 29-year-old Bryan James Busher was charged following the Christmas Eve 2019 incident at the Genoa Township Walmart. Authorities say Busher and another man had pushed out a shopping cart full of items without paying, and when confronted by an employee, Busher implied he had a gun. The pair then loaded the items into a van and drove away. A pursuit ensued until the van crashed at the Pleasant Valley Road entrance ramp on eastbound I-96, where Busher and the other suspect fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. Busher was arrested after being located by a drone.

The Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday morning several charges made against Rep. Jones, who represents the sate’s 11th district, in connection with a traffic incident that occurred on April 6. Officials say Jones has been charged with four counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer, operating a motor vehicle with high blood alcohol content, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a weapon under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.

Rep. Jewell Jones, D-Inkster, who was 25 at the time of the incident but has since turned 26, is charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, operating a motor vehicle with a high blood alcohol content, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a weapon while under the influence of alcohol, and reckless driving, Livingston Chief Assistant Prosecutor Carolyn Henry said in a news release. The most serious felony charge, resisting and obstructing a police officer, carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison. Jones faces four counts under that charge, Henry said. Jones is separately charged with resisting and obstructing two Michigan State Police troopers, one Fowlerville police officer and one paramedic, according to the complaint.

April 9, 2021 By Jessica Mathews / news@whmi.com A Hartland Township man is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say he brutally beat his father. 26-year-old Clay Garner is charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, aggravated domestic violence, and assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer. A copy of the complaint states the incident occurred on February 18th. Garner was arrested after trying to flee police and was arraigned on the charges in February. A detective with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office testified during a court hearing that Garner punched his father in the face, ribs, and shoulders for around an hour and threatened to kill him. Prosecutors stated they believe the defendant was trying to murder his father and would have requested bond be denied if Magistrate Jerry Sherwood had the legal authority to do so.
