No Hank Coe Leadership Highway - Bill Fails in Wyoming Senate

House Bill 135 failed to pass in the Wyoming Senate. This ends the attempt to memorialize late Park County Senator Hank Coe on Wyoming Highway 120, according to Wyoming Public Media. Senator Coe passed away on Jan. 21 at the age of 74. He served Cody and Park County as the Senator of District 18 for over three decades. The bill sought to designate a section of the highway between Thermopolis and the Wyoming/Montana border in Senator Coe’s honor. WYDOT would install $2,800 worth of signs along the Hank Coe Leadership Highway if it passed.

Credit Wyoming LSO The Wyoming Senate has voted down a bill that would have named a stretch of highway between Meeteetse and Cody after the late Cody Sen. Hank Coe. Coe died of cancer in January. He retired last year and represented Cody since 1989, including time as the Senate Majority Floor Leader and Senate President. The bill was seen as a way to honor Coe since he had pushed for raising speed limits on state highways. Baggs Sen. Larry Hicks said that many great legislators from the state have died and lawmakers haven t gone to this length to memorialize them.

Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition on view Share ORONO The University of Maine Department of Art will present the 2021 Juried Student Art Exhibition, “Here and There,” that features work by current students in studio art courses. The exhibition will be on display through April 30 in Lord Hall Gallery. The venue provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at all levels to showcase their work. This year, 72 works of art were selected from more than 106 submissions in a range of media. Paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, two- and three-dimensional design, as well as sculpture and ceramic work are included in the exhibition. Interim Gallery Director Susan Smith and former director Laurie Hicks juried the exhibition.
