Inspiration struck when Masha Leuner was helping her parents find COVID-19 vaccination appointments. “I started to make appointments for both my mom and dad, and I very quickly realized how challenging it was, to a point where we were desperate, because we just couldn’t figure out how to navigate the system,” the Brookline resident said. The system kept crashing, appointment slots filled up quickly, and the whole process ultimately took longer than it should have.  The Lawrence School mom realized educators who spend all day teaching wouldn’t easily be able to make the time.  So she created a spreadsheet that would allow Brookline parents to “adopt” teachers and schedule vaccination appointments for them. After running it by the Lawrence School principal, she worked with the school’s PTO to get the word out to teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists and school staff members.
