Painter Quietly Delivers Artistic Flair to Falmouth Sidewalks

The first ones appeared like crocuses in early spring, beguiling business owners on Main Street in Falmouth. “We don’t know who dropped it off. It just showed up,” said Hugh Birmingham, the owner of Coffee Obsession. “Thankfully it didn’t go through the window.” Someone has been dropping off painted rocks on shop stoops and the edges of sidewalks around Falmouth, all bearing the same simple red heart. The first ones were about the size of an orange. They soon disappeared. But more arrived, and they were bigger.
