Riverdance: The Animated Adventure has arrived complete with dancing deer, wiggling fish, and laughing frogs.
Inspired by the wildly popular theatrical production
Riverdance, the cg feature builds a family-friendly adventure story around Bill Whelan’s famous score, which is rooted in Irish folk music. Watch the trailer below:
Riverdance is the first release from London-based animation production company Aniventure, which co-produced the film with Ireland’s River Productions. Aniventure unveiled a slate of three features in September, announcing that it aims “to deliver very high production values at a budget level that allows the finished films to be economically viable irrespective of the distribution channel chosen.” The company has signed with Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency.
Cruella
Cruella de Vil – there’s a clue in the name. This is the origin story of the fur-loving, puppy-slaughtering villain from British novelist Dodie Smith’s The Hundred And One Dalmatians, which has been adapted for the screen several times.

An animated movie based on Riverdance is set to be released later this month.
It’s titled ‘Riverdance: The Animated Adventure’.
And it features the voices of Pierce Brosnan and Brendan Gleeson.
It follows a young Irish boy, Keegan, and his Spanish friend Moya.
In the film, they journey into a mythical world.
There, they’re taught by its residents to appreciate Riverdance as a celebration of life.
It features an original score from Grammy Award winning composer Bill Whelan.
The musical comedy will be available in Ireland on Sky Cinema and streaming service NOW on May 28th.

BLUEWATER – Residents in Bluewater who are interested in driving a low-speed vehicle (LSV) on roads will have to wait for the time being.
Councillors passed a motion during the May 3 regular council meeting to accept a report about LSVs for information, but decided not to pass a motion to allow them to be driven on municipal roads.

LSVs are considered electric vehicles with a maximum speed of 40 km/h which are usually prohibited from being used on Ontario’s roads. But as part of a 10-year pilot project which began in 2017, LSVs are being permitted to be driven on roads in municipalities that pass a bylaw for them.

BLUEWATER – Councillors voiced their support for a five-person OPP Detachment Board for Huron County as Ontario’s Police Services Board framework is slated to be changed later this year – though costs associated with the board have councillors concerned.
Coun. Alwyn Vanden Berg was selected by councillors to attend meetings with Huron County municipal CAOs and elected officials alongside Bluewater CAO Laurie Spence Bannerman to “work towards consensus on the OPP Detachment Board representation.”
