Eatbeat: Gramma Butterwicks is a popular, friendly home-owned restaurant

There was a time when families had liver for dinner – or supper – once a week. And since I long have remembered liver is “good for you” I decided to order it when I stopped by Gramma Butterwicks this week.
This busy, everyday-style restaurant draws faithful, longtime customers who keep coming back. There are families with babies, elderly couples, workmen taking a break.
And people seem to have their own choice of a booth by the window, or a booth a step up. I like one of the comfortable stools at the counter. Some prefer the dining room which is large and inviting with windows and a variety of plants.

George Darrell Jensen, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2021.
Anyone who knew Darrell enjoyed his nurturing spirit and joyful sense of humor. He was a kind, caring and genuine soul with a huge heart and an infectious smile. He had a special way of making evervone he knew feel loved. His favorite things in life were his family and farming, both of which he adored with all his heart. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and creating laughter with his jokes, stories and made-up songs. His love of farming created a life he enjoyed and cultivated friendships that meant everything to him.

My fondest memory was waiting for Santa and Mrs. Claus to arrive at the mall via helicopter. I stood in anticipation with my husband and daughter and all the other families anxiously waiting for them to land. I was so proud when they landed and stepped out and was happy to see them as they were there in all their glory ⦠my Mom and Dad, that is. Yes, they were Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus at Gateway Mall for many years. Not many daughters can claim having a personal connection to the Guy in the Big Red Suit!
