Anne Neuberger, a Jewish Orthodox woman who serves as the top White House cybersecurity official, gave her first press briefing Wednesday since joining the Biden administration.
Neuberger, who holds the post of deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology, addressed a major cyber breach likely carried out by Russia that she said accessed files and emails from at least nine government agencies and about 100 private companies.
She also warned that the danger has not passed, because the hackers breached networks of technology companies whose products could be used to launch additional intrusions.

Rabbi Abraham J. Twerski, an international authority on addiction who founded Gateway Rehabilitation Center, died from covid-19 Sunday in Israel, according to several reports.
Dr. Twerski, 90, had been hospitalized after contracting covid last week, The Yeshiva World reported.
Twerski founded Gateway, a drug and alcohol treatment center in Center Township, Beaver County, in 1972 and was its medical director emeritus. He also served for 20 years as the clinical head of psychiatry at the now-defunct St. Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville.
In some corners of Ultra-Orthodox or Haredi social media, the beloved rabbi and psychiatrist Abraham Twerski died not of coronavirus, but of a man-made menace even worse than the virus itself: The COVID-19 vaccine.
“The rabbi Dr, was perfectly healthy” wrote a commenter on an article announcing Twerski’s death on the Haredi news site Yeshiva World on Sunday. “This is mass murder under the disguise of vaccine program!”
An audio “news report” from “Israel News Talk Radio” circulating on WhatsApp Monday morning said, without evidence, that Twerski “has died after reportedly receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” continuing with a long list of Jews who had supposedly died after receiving the injection.

(JTA) Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski, the scion of multiple Hasidic dynasties, author of more than 60 books, and a physician who became a leading authority on drug treatment and addiction, has died.
Twerski was 90 and had been battling COVID-19 in Israel, according to Yeshiva World News.
Born in Milwaukee into a family of incomparably distinguished rabbinic stock, Twerski was descended on his father’s side from Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky, the founder of the Chernobyl Hasidic dynasty also known the Me’or Einayim, a work of Torah commentary he authored. His mother was the daughter of the Bobover Hasidic rebbe.
