Sea warning likely for Tropical Storm Choi-Wan 06/03/2021 03:00 PM From Central Weather Bureau Taipei, June 3 (CNA) A sea warning is likely to be issued later Thursday for Tropical Storm Choi-Wan, as it moves closer to Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said. As of 8 a.m. Thursday, Choi-Wan was located about 680 kilometers south-southwest of Taiwan, moving north-northeast at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour, according to the CWB. The tropical storm has a radius of 80 km and is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 90 kph, CWB data shows. The weather bureau said that a sea warning was likely to be issued for Taiwan later Thursday, as Choi-Wan has been weakening slower than expected as it moves closer to Pingtung County on the Hengchun Peninsula in the south of the country.
