Authorities snare homicide suspect; No further details until police briefing

By Todd Epp Jan 12, 2021 5:15 PM SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Minnehaha County Fugitive Task Force found a man wanted for homicide. The suspect was driving a vehicle near 12th Street and Lyons Avenue and refused to stop when the deputies tried to stop the car. A pursuit began and Sioux Falls Police were requested to take over the pursuit. The pursuit traveled through central Sioux Falls and ended near 2nd Street and Kiwanis Avenue. The suspect was then taken into custody without further issues. During the pursuit, there were some minor accidents that occurred but no initial reports of injury. The name of the suspect and further details will be covered at media briefing on Wednesday, January 13.

The man and two women are accused of first-degree murder or other charges in the murder of Mitchell Houchins. One of the suspects, Josue Emmanuel Hernandez, 21, of Sioux Falls, was arrested yesterday afternoon after an extensive police chase in central and western Sioux Falls. The other two suspects were already in the Minnehaha County Jail. Crystal Lorraine Mousseau, 28, of Sioux Falls, was arrested Monday and Susan Alice Sanchez, 29, of Sioux Falls, was arrested Saturday. Police think the December 30 homicide occurred during a meth deal and that Houchins owed some of the defendants’ money. The incident occurred near West Pine Meadows Place and West Sandalwood Place.

Authorities Arrest Alleged Shooter in Death of Sioux Falls Teen Authorities have apprehended another suspect involved in the death of a Sioux Falls teen in early December. 17-year-old Devon Moses Montileaux is now in custody. Dakota News Now is reporting that Montileaux was recently arrested in Pierre by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Minnehaha County Fugitive Task Force. Montileaux is being charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in connection with his role in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ephraim Duolo Shulue. According to Dakota News Now, Shulue was shot and killed on (December 9) during a drug deal that turned into an attempted armed robbery.
