SACO Izzy White scored four goals and Thornton Academy held off Cheverus for an 11-9 girls’ lacrosse win on Monday.
Morgan Bolduc and Hazel Stoddard each scored twice for Thornton Academy (2-1). Emma Boissonneault, Abby Brown and Grace Veroneau all had one goal.
Riley O’Mara led Cheverus (1-2) with five goals. Neve Cawley made 16 saves in net.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 14, GARDINER 6: Emma Sharpe had six goals and an assist, Lilly Weinrich added five and three assists and the Panthers (2-1) controlled the game defensively and came out with a win over the Tigers (1-1) in Gardiner.

NICEVILLE Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) announced winners of the 35th annual James and Christian LaRoche Memorial Poetry Contest and the Blackwater Review art and literature journal for 2021.
Fiona Morris of Santa Rosa Beach won first place and a cash prize of $100 for her poem Summers in the Screen Room. Madison Gray of Freeport placed second with her poem Mea Culpa. Gray will be awarded a cash prize of $50.
Two poems tied for third place with a cash prize of $25 each. Carter Hyde of Fort Walton Beach tied with his poem Prayer for Dionysus at a Party. In addition to winning the first-place prize, Morris tied for third place with her poem Seed, Berry, Love.

And while the interactions between the members of the DPS task force provided a lot of the series best character moments, the squad member s relationships with the baddies of the series were often also very significant. The villains of the show gave Steve McGarrett (Alex O Loughlin), Danno Williams (Scott Caan), and the rest some major moments of character development, even when they were only around for a few episodes.
