The United States is facing a critical shortage of primary care physicians, a problem thatâs even worse in rural areas. Healthcare workers are working to make sure people get the care they need to lead a healthy life.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Waters Edge hosted a food and milk giveaway Thursday afternoon as Southwest Louisiana works to recover from storms and the pandemic.
Water Edge volunteer Josh Quayhagen says members of the community continue to lend support to one another.
“There’s no strings attached. I don’t know why or where it came from. Just people needed it and people supplied and people showed up.”
At the drive there was 16,000 boxes of food were handed out by volunteers of Waters Edge and Manna Ministries, that’s enough for 800 families,
