He ran 65 miles across S.F. and all 76 peaks in one day as ‘parting gift’ By Peter Hartlaub Running from before sunrise to sundown, Luke Wicker has seen more incredible San Francisco views in a single day than many natives see in a lifetime. On March 6, the ultrarunner ran every accessible peak in one day, 76 total, covering 65 miles and more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain. Wicker, 33, is calling the feat the San Francisco Round inspired by the Bob Graham Round in the UK and other ultrarunning challenges and hopes others will follow him. After six years in Noe Valley, the Facebook employee is leaving San Francisco this month to return to the UK and be closer to family. He calls the run a parting gift to a city he’s fallen in love with, and hopes to see again soon.

Birds are chirping loudly, towering eucalyptus trees sway in the breeze and the distant sound of Highway 101 hums in the background.
