Ag committee: Farm plastics and levy to go under spotlight

The committee will examine the levy and the collection of farm plastics with representatives from James Fitzgerald Agricultural Services and the IFFPG tomorrow (Tuesday May 18) at 3:30pm. The meeting will consist of two sessions: Session 1, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, featuring representatives from James Fitzgerald Agricultural Services; and • Session 2, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, featuring representatives from Irish Farm Film Producers Group (IFFPG).

Adriaan Palm, who comes from just outside the country’s administrative capital Den Haag, spent a full day in meetings with the Shannon Foynes Port Company, local TD Brian Leddin, cycling campaigners and other business representatives. There are more bicycles than people in the Netherlands, with getting around on two wheels among the most popular means of transport. It’s something that Mr Palm wants to encourage in Limerick.

His funeral took place in Dublin earlier this week, with his brother Conor cycling his coffin to Glasnevin Cemetery. Dozens of other cyclists followed behind as the cortege made its way through the city.
