Reaction after Grundy Fold mansions ordered to be demolished

THE integrity of Bolton’s entire planning system was at stake with the Grundy Fold part-built homes inquiry, a leading councillor has said. On Wednesday, the Planning Inspectorate rejected appeals from the owners to save the five luxury million pound detached properties, at Grundy Fold Farm. They were built outside the agreed permission, on an open, rural, hillside off Chorley Old Road, between Horwich and Doffcocker. The ruling means that enforcement action issued in 2018 from Bolton Council to demolish the homes remains in place and must be done within the next 12 months. Ward councillor and cabinet member Andy Morgan said if the inspector had ruled that the homes could remain where they are and be completed it could have led to to a free for all for developers in the borough.

Potter s Place in Sheboygan helps homeless families in school district

SHEBOYGAN - Sheboygan Area School District families facing homelessness now have a place to stay while they get back on their feet. Potter s Place, a transitional living facility, housed its first family in need from the school district just after Christmas. So far, two families from the district have stayed at the house while getting jobs and securing other permanent housing. Both ended up there after being evicted. All their basic needs are met, said Sheboygan County Halfway House Director Erik Buchelt. The four-unit house in the 2600 block of Erie Avenue is furnished, and while staying there, families have access to food and clothes in addition to other resources through the Halfway House, such as partnerships with banks and landlords and housing assistance programs.
