SHEBOYGAN - Sheboygan Area School District families facing homelessness now have a place to stay while they get back on their feet.
Potter's Place, a transitional living facility, housed its first family in need from the school district just after Christmas. So far, two families from the district have stayed at the house while getting jobs and securing other permanent housing. Both ended up there after being evicted.
"All their basic needs are met," said Sheboygan County Halfway House Director Erik Buchelt.
The four-unit house in the 2600 block of Erie Avenue is furnished, and while staying there, families have access to food and clothes in addition to other resources through the Halfway House, such as partnerships with banks and landlords and housing assistance programs.
