Newport s Camden Murphy collaborates with Andrea Belaidi for Spilled Paint

By Rob Duguay For The Daily News When Camden Murphy released his debut album Love Over Everything back on Sept. 18, it instantly became one of the best records to come out of Newport over the past few years. With inventive beats and a spellbinding lyrical delivery, Murphy put out a record that grabs the roots of hip hop and plants them in a modern field. One of the top tracks off of the album is “Spilled Paint,” which is one of three songs that has Andrea Belaidi from the Portsmouth, New Hampshire funk-hop act Harsh Armadillo. On Dec. 11, Murphy released a music video for the track which has a lot of colors being shown along with choreographed dancing. Fellow Newport resident David Dougherty also handled the directing of the video.

SWEET REVENGE: Mountaineers roll over Georgia Southern, 34-26

STATESBORO, Ga. — Christmas came a couple of weeks early for Appalachian State head coach Shawn Clark with a win over Georgia Southern on Dec. 12. A 17-point offensive surge in the fourth quarter, highlighted by a 100-yard kickoff return and a 70-yard rush that was the longest run from scrimmage this season, propelled the Mountaineers to a thrilling, come-from-behind win over Georgia Southern (34-26) at Paulson Stadium on Saturday. App State trailed 17-7 at halftime. The 6,228 mostly Eagle fans allowed to attend on a balmy mid-December evening could maybe sense that maybe the momentum was shifting when App State opened the second half. Directed by senior quarterback Zac Thomas, the Mountaineer offense took 4:10 off the clock in mounting a 10-play, 72-yard drive that culminated with Thomas’ 9-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Thomas Hennigan, slanting from the left side. The score narrowed the Mountaineers’ deficit to 17-14.
