Player of the Year. Gorriaran is the first Gatorade Rhode Island Girls Track & Field Player of the Year to be chosen
from Moses Brown School.
The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic
achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Gorriaran as Rhode Island’s
best high school girls track & field athlete. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Track & Field
Player of the Year award to be announced in July, Gorriaran joins an elite alumni association of state award-winners

After COVID-19 largely quieted local fireworks in 2020, the summer sky shows are back with a bang this summer.

Come this school year, all Rhode Island schools will return to in person learning.
ABC6 spoke with Barrington residents Joseph and Adam Roberts.
Adam is a senior at Barrington High School and Joseph is a professor at Roger Williams University.
Both prefer learning in school over learning through a screen.
“Personally I get way more distracted at home than when I learn in school,” Adam said.
“I’m a firm believer in active learning,” Joseph said. “I like getting students to have rich discussions and move about the classrooms from one side to another, through a computer that’s difficult.”
