Senior Players Set for Reserve Cup Final Monday, 19th Apr 2010 11:29
Town boss Roy Keane says there will be a sprinkling of senior players in the reserve side which takes on Needham Market in the final of the LB Group Suffolk Premier Cup at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm).
Keane said: “It’s a good opportunity for the lads who are coming back from injury like Quinner to play a game, and the lads who have been left out the last week or two - Garvs, Lee Martin - they’ll all be involved.
“It’s the chance for the boys to get a game, keep their fitness up and to try and win it.”

Town s reserves comfortably beat Needham Market 4-1 in the LB Group Suffolk Premier Cup final at Portman Road on Monday evening. Midfielder Billy Clark netted a brace, with the other goals coming from Lee Martin and Reggie Lambe before Darren Bethell added a late consolation for the Ridgeons League side.
Alan Quinn hit the first of Town s efforts over the bar before a lovely backheel from Spanish striker Pablo Couñago allowed Lee Martin to put Town ahead after 11 minutes, the former Manchester United man needing two attempts to beat Danny Gay in the Needham goal after his first effort was blocked.

Danny Haynes was once again the derby day hero, first creating an own goal for Norwich defender Alex Pearce, then scoring the second himself as Town defeated the Canaries 2-1 at Portman Road. The Blues deserved to win much more comfortably, having dominated after Ched Evans had put the visitors ahead in the fourth minute.
On-loan striker Shefki Kuqi made a surprise start alongside Pablo Couñago up front with Jon Walters on the bench. Alan Lee was left out of the 16 completely, while Danny Haynes switched back to the right of midfield. David Wright took over from Sito at left-back with Gary Roberts also left out of the 16 after starting against Cardiff in midweek.
