Nimay Sarkar, who was elected mayor of the Nagarkanda municipality as an Awami League candidate in the February 14 polls, was also critically injured. Omar Faruq, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station, said the accident happened in Kailar Mour area around 9:15pm. He said the bus was heading towards Dhaka and the victims were travelling in the microbus going in the opposite direction.
