Two eighth-graders were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway at Hamirdi under Bhanga upazila in Faridpur today.
The deceased were identified as Sakib Fakir (15) and Shahin Matubbar (16), both students of Brahman Kanda AS Academy in Bhanga, Faridpur, said MA Salam Mia, headmaster of the school.
The accident happened when a truck hit and ran over the motorbike Sakib and Shahin were riding, said Omar Faruk, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station.
Both of them were taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex with severe injuries where on-duty doctor declared them dead, the official added.
