Vietnam adds 2,105 cases to domestic Covid tally

Vietnam recorded 2,105 local Covid-19 cases in 18 localities on Saturday morning, raising the infection tally of the ongoing wave to 42,663.
Of the new patients, 1,769 were recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, with 1,391 in quarantine zones and areas under lockdown and 378 linked to other clusters in the community.
Among other southern localities, Binh Duong Province, a HCMC s neighbor, recorded 124 cases, 92 of whom are linked to two previously confirmed patients, 13 returned from HCMC and the source of transmission of the remaining 19 cases is still unclear.

HÀ NỘI The Ministry of Health announced a further 69 COVID-19-related deaths in HCM City on Thursday evening, increasing the death toll to 207.
The deaths occurred from June 7 to July 15 and had not previously been recorded on the COVID-19 management software.
In addition, Việt Nam saw a daily record of 3,416 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, increasing the caseload since the beginning of the pandemic to 40,850.
Thirty-seven of them were imported cases quarantined upon arrival, with infections recorded Thanh Hóa (19), HCM City (10), An Giang (2), Hà Nội (2), Ninh Bình (1), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Quảng Nam (1) and Bình Định (1).

Vietnam confirmed 593 new community transmissions of Covid-19 in 11 localities Saturday morning, including 520 in HCMC, raising the nation s tally to 23,075 in two and a half months.
Of the new cases in HCMC, 436 are already in quarantine and isolated areas and 84 are being contact traced.
Dong Nai Province that borders HCMC recorded 18 cases, comprising 12 people that have come into contact with Covid-19 patients and six cases related to a cluster at Binh Dien wholesale market in HCMC s District 8.
