VNA/VNS.Photo Thu Hoài HCM CITY The HCM City Department of Health has developed a scenario to adapt to the increasing number of severely ill COVID-19 patients. If the number rises to 500, the department will allow Thủ Đức COVID-19 Treatment Hospital to admit severely ill patients. The hospital has only been admitting COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms. The department has told the hospital to evaluate machines and staff, especially those who can perform resuscitation well. The department has asked hospitals designated for treatment of COVID-19 patients to increase the number of beds and prepare facilities, machines and human resources for emergencies and resuscitation of severely ill patients.
Another 276 local Covid cases recorded in Vietnam, mostly in HCMC

Vietnam recorded 276 local Covid-19 cases Wednesday morning, and 270 are in Ho Chi Minh City.
The cases in HCMC include 232 in quarantined zones and isolated areas, while 38 other cases have unknown sources of transmission.
The remaining six cases were detected in four other localities.
The central Phu Yen Province got two cases that are people who had made contact with confirmed Covid-19 patients.

The Health Ministry confirmed 277 local Covid-19 patients Tuesday morning, including 230 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Of the cases in HCMC, 186 are already in quarantined zones and areas under lockdown and 44 have unknown transmission sources.
The remaining cases confirmed Tuesday morning are in six other localities.
Central Phu Yen Province reported 18 cases who have been quarantined or live in lockdown areas.
Dong Nai Province that borders HCMC got 11 cases, including five linked to a cluster at Hoc Mon wholesale market in HCMC s Hoc Mon District, four linked to a cluster at Binh Dien wholesale market in HCMC s District 8 and two are being contact traced.
