He was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said Deep Sidhu was arrested from Karnal Bypass at 10.40 pm on Monday. Yadav added that Deep Sidhu was wanted in connection with the case of instigating the crowd at the Red Fort on Republic Day. The Crime Branch will investigate his role in detail, the DCP told PTI.
Actor-activist Deep Sidhu and another accused Iqbal Singh were taken to the Red Fort by the Delhi Police's Crime Branch on Saturday to recreate the scene of events that unfolded at the historic monument on Republic Day during the farmers' tractor parade, a police officer said.

NEW DELHI: Actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who was arrested for the violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day, has told police that he had no bad intentions and went to the historic monument as everybody was going there, officials said on Wednesday.
The Delhi Police s Crime Branch questioned Sidhu on Wednesday about his whereabouts and acts at the Red Fort on January 26, officials said.
Deep Sidhu and his friends left Singhu border at around 11 am in a vehicle and reached the Red Fort at around 1 pm. After violence broke out there, they returned to the border in the same vehicle, he said. When questioned about his role in the flag hoisting incident at the fort, he denied his involvement and claimed that he did not gather or instigate the crowd, the officer said.
