LGU-Roxas receiving national recognition: It s not overnight, we ve done these over the years, says town Mayor

PRES. MANUEL ROXAS, Zamboanga del Norte, Dec. 19 (PIA) - Pres. Manuel Roxas town is taking the spotlight among other municipalities with all the recognition its getting from the recent 8th Regional Competitiveness Summit Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index held recently by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The town bested all other 5th and 6th class municipalities in the national awards ranking first as the Overall Most Competitive Municipality in the Philippines and Most Competitive: Economic Dynamism. It also bagged the third rank in Most Competitive Government Efficiency and 16th rank as Most Competitive Infrastructure. Mayor Jan Hendrik Vallecer, during an interview at the Laging Handa Network Briefing, shared “despite being a 5th class municipality, we gained a lot of local income comparable to 1st class municipalities here in Zamboanga del Norte province.”

Muntinlupa ranks 1st in resiliency, 5th in competitive cities

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi (Muntinlupa PIO / MANILA BULLETIN) The CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the Department of Trade and Industry and National Competitiveness Council with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  This year, Muntinlupa became the fifth most competitive city among HUCs in the country. Manila ranked first followed by Davao, Pasay and Makati. Muntinlupa’s 2020 ranking is an improvement from 8 th place in 2019 and 10 th place in 2018.  Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the ranking is a recognition of the local government’s thrust in streamlining disaster resilience in development planning and improving the local government’s processes and transaction procedures.

Biliran town moves from bottom of the list to 4th most improved LGU in PH

Published December 17, 2020, 10:41 AM TACLOBAN CITY – From the bottom of the list, an interior town in Biliran province ranked 4th as the most improved local government unit nationwide for the 5th to 6th class municipalities category by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Survey 2020. According to the DTI website, the survey is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It was designed to encourage local governments to regularly track data and eventually benchmark performance against other cities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
