TACLOBAN CITY – From the bottom of the list, an interior town in Biliran province ranked 4th as the most improved local government unit nationwide for the 5th to 6th class municipalities category by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Survey 2020.
According to the DTI website, the survey is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
It was designed to encourage local governments to regularly track data and eventually benchmark performance against other cities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
