DVIDS - News - NSWCPD Employees Receive 2020 Philadelphia FEB Excellence in Government Awards

4 The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) participated in the 2020 Philadelphia Federal Executive Board’s (FEB) Excellence in Government Awards Ceremony, with numerous NSWCPD employees winning Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. The virtual awards ceremony held on May 5, 2021 was a first for the Philadelphia FEB, and reflects the work of many people from several agencies supporting the betterment of the federal community as a whole. Each year during Public Service Recognition Week, FEBs recognize high-performing federal employees in their local communities and highlight innovative efforts that advance the missions of federal agencies. Award nominations are reviewed by leadership panels using criteria for a variety of categories, such as Leadership, Customer Service, and Innovation.

Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will be re-releasing the original  Space Jam on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 6, about ten days ahead of the scheduled simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max release of  Space Jam: A New Legacy. While the new disc will be relatively light on special features, it ll include the previously released audio commentary from director Joe Pytka, Bugs Bunny (Billy West) and Daffy Duck (Dee Bradley Baker), the “Jammin” featurette with Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan, and music videos for Seal’s “Fly Like an Eagle,” the Monstars’ anthem “Hit ‘Em High,” and more!Â

Bar Harbor native wins an Oscar Jefferson Hobbs wins an Engineering Emmy award in 2019 for sound processing software that earns his team an Oscar in 2021. ISLANDER FILE PHOTO BAR HARBOR Mount Desert Island High School and University of Maine graduate Jefferson Hobbs is among the winners of this year’s Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.   The award was given to iZotope, a software company in Cambridge, Mass., where the Bar Harbor native has worked for nine years. The nod was specifically for the development of the company’s RX sound processing software.
