Crews fully contain 35-acre brush fire off Corkscrew Rd in Lee County Published: April 14, 2021 4:06 PM EDT Updated: April 14, 2021 5:43 PM EDT Recommended Estero Fire Rescue led the response to a large brush fire in southeast Lee County Wednesday afternoon. According to the fire rescue Facebook post, the fire reached approximately 35 acres and was 100% contained as of 5 p.m. The scene was in the area of 23971 Corkscrew Rd, which is roughly 7 miles east of the Corkscrew intersection with Alico Road. No structures were reportedly in danger due to the fire at this time, and there were no injuries involved. Florida Forest Service was also at the scene with tractor units and an aircraft unit helping to survey and contain the fire.
