Alaquinez was one of two people killed on Christmas Eve around 3 a.m. off Southeast Loop 410 following two separate crashed involving the same intoxicated wrong-way driver. The other victim was 33-year-old Jay Mejia.  The early-morning phone call came on Christmas Eve.

Alaquinez managed to avoid the wrong-way driver, identified as 26-year-old Alejandro Montoya Rodriguez, but then drove underneath an 18-wheeler, San Antonio police said.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday in the 11500 block of Southeast Loop 410. Police said the wrong-way driver, who authorities said was intoxicated, was driving a silver 2014 Mazda with a passenger inside. The driver was moving westbound on the eastbound lanes.
