A Trigg County resident shared his concerns with magistrates Monday evening about what he called “a lack of deputies” at the sheriff’s office.
During the regular meeting of Trigg County Fiscal Court, Jim Strelec took a few minutes to express concerns about the time it took the department to answer recent calls for service. In his comments, Strelec shared a few examples of instances within the last few months when he or his neighbors needed a deputy, but it took the department two or more hours to respond to the call.

A Florida man was flown to a Nashville hospital after a tractor-trailer overturned Saturday on Rocky Ridge Road.
It happened between KY 124 and KY 128, with Trigg County Sheriff’s Major Mike Sandbrink saying the tractor-trailer ran off the road and overturned.

Trigg County magistrates recently approved the 2021 fiscal year budget for the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Aaron Acree presented the $839,185 budget Monday night, nearly $25,000 more than the current budget.
Sheriff Acree said most of the increase comes from higher pay for all of his staff.
