Study shows when people with cerebral palsy are most likely to break bones

E-Mail Researchers at Michigan Medicine found a subset of middle-aged men with cerebral palsy are up to 5.6 times more likely to suffer fractures than men without the disorder. We are not really sure why this happens, said Edward A. Hurvitz, M.D., professor and chair of the Michigan Medicine Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. It may be related to structural differences that occur during adolescent growth, or to greater bone mineral loss at earlier age for people with cerebral palsy compared to peers. For a study published in BONE, the team examined the timing and site of bone fractures for around 10 million people with and without cerebral palsy using public and private insurance claims from 2016. They found people with the disability have fragile bones that present high fracture risk, but at different times across the lifespan compared to the general population.

Why not pay heed to 1918 as the start of the Packers?

Brian from Fitchburg, WI There are early references to the Packers starting in 1918. Why haven t you bought in? Glad you asked. And not only are you correct about those early references to 1918, but the person who wrote them was George Whitney Calhoun, co-founder of the Packers. Obviously, what he had to say can t be dismissed with anything less than overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Thus, I m guessing that I ve spent upwards of 100 hours, maybe double that, researching the subject. After all, what s more historically important for the Packers than getting our birth date and age right? Anyway, I ll try to condense my volumes of research on this subject to an answer of reasonable length and let you draw your conclusions.

How people power stopped the stink from North Staffordshire landfill site Walley s Quarry

In January police officers arrested campaigner Nathan Wint after he reportedly chained himself to the gates. At the time police revealed he had been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass . The road outside the quarry had to be cordoned off while officers were at the scene speaking to Nathan. His sister, Kim Wint, said: I think it stinks. I live in Trent Vale so it’s not as bad there but my family are in Silverdale and Knutton. The smell is affecting everyone, and people worry about their children s health from breathing it in. “It was supposed to be slowing down this year but the smell is as bad as ever.
