SINGAPORE, Dec 30 The founders of homegrown bakery chain Twelve Cupcakes, former radio deejay Daniel Ong and his ex-wife actress Jaime Teo, were yesterday charged with underpaying eight of their foreign employees from 2012 to 2016.
Ong, 45, and Teo, 43, each received 24 counts of contravening rules under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, including charges of failing to pay their foreign employees on time.

SINGAPORE: Twelve Cupcakes founders Daniel Ong and Jaime Teo were charged in court on Tuesday (Dec 29) with breaching employment laws, in the latest of legal troubles for the homegrown bakery chain.
Ong, 45, received 24 counts under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act for offences allegedly committed while he was at the helm of the cupcake chain.

Nuveen Expands TDF Solutions With New Series
Nuveen, the global investment manager of TIAA, has expanded its target-date fund (TDF) solutions offering with the addition of the Nuveen TIAA Lifecycle Index CIT series.
The new collective investment trust (CIT) series will further complement the firm’s existing TDF suite, which includes an offering of active, passive and blended strategies. The trustee for the CIT is SEI Trust Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of SEI Investments Co. SEI maintains ultimate fiduciary authority over the management of and the investments made in the CIT, with Nuveen acting as the adviser.
With the launch of the Nuveen TIAA Lifecycle Index CIT series, the firm will now offer a passive target-date strategy in both mutual fund (TIAA-CREF Lifecycle Index Funds) and CIT solutions.
