Kay Ivey opts to extend a mask mandate or to follow the lead of Texas and Mississippi in dropping it, one thing is clear: A thaw has come to coastal Alabama. The floodgates are open, with a steady stream of concerts, festivals and other public events on the books for March and April. Many still advertise social distancing and other hygienic precautions, and individual venues could require or encourage mask use even if the state says it’s not mandatory. Needless to say, many people may still opt to avoid public gatherings or to wear masks regardless of what’s required.

Baldwin Career, Job Fair set March 2

The Baldwin County Career and Job Fair will be March 2 at the Daphne Civic Center. Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Posted By Guy Busby DAPHNE – The 2021 Baldwin County Career and Job Fair will give job seekers a chance to look for employment in the improving labor market as well as ways to restart some careers interrupted by COVID-19, event organizers said. The fair will be Tuesday, March 2 at the Daphne Civic Center. The event will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce is conducting the fair. Christina Hellmich, chamber director of workforce development, said a wide variety of employers will be at the event looking for new workers.
