Entry List: Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 March 16, 2021 March 15, 2021 written by Phil Allaway Friday (March 19) will see IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge teams compete in the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 at Sebring International Raceway.  The first sprint race of the season will have 35 teams entered, a drop of seven from Daytona. In the Grand Sport class, there are 20 teams entered, down from 25 in Daytona.  The five that aren’t entered are BGB Motorsports, BimmerWorld Racing, KohR Motorsports, FraSun Racing and Notlad Racing by RS1.  BGB Motorsports previously announced that they were retiring their Cayman to focus on the new Porsche Carrera Cup North America, which debuts this weekend.  BimmerWorld Racing appears to be focusing more on Pirelli GT4 America SprintX as they are fielding three cars there.  Notlad Racing by RS1 is also primarily an SRO America team.  FraSun Racing is a part-time operation.

Action Express gives Chase Elliott a Rolex 24 milestone

Action Express Racing put one of its two Cadillacs the one featuring NASCAR champion Chase Ellott on the pole for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in a first-of-its-kind qualifying race for the crown jewel endurance event. The No. 31 Cadillac DPi will be driven next week in the twice-round-the-clock race by Felipe Nasr, Pipo Derani, Mike Conway and Elliott in Elliott s IMSA sports car debut. He didn t race the car in Sunday s qualifier, which awarded 35 points to the pole-winning team. Action Express used fulltime regular drivers Nasr and Derani for the 140-minute qualifier around the winding Daytona International Speedway road course and snagged the Rolex 24 pole.

Duval competed in the first three seasons of Formula E during its Gen1 era with Dragon Racing, before departing the series after the 2016-17 campaign to race in the DTM with Audi. Over the years, the French driver has accumulated experience in a wide variety of cars, including LMP1, DPi, Class One and Super Formula machinery, and will race in the top category of the IMSA SportsCar Championship next year with JDC-Miller Motorsports.
