Dr Yasmin Rashid urges doctors to treat patients with care, respect Lahore February 23, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid took oath from the students of first-year of MBBS class at the Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Monday. The minister said, “The students of Fatima Jinnah Medical University are taking oath to serve humanity. This is a prophetic profession. Almighty Allah has chosen you to serve humanity. You are your parents deserve congratulations for this honour. The service of doctors is compared to that of a prophet. A doctor must be inspired by great ideals to serve humanity. Saving one life is like saving humanity. A doctor’s services cannot be equated with any monetary gains. People are remembered for their services to humanity and not for their riches. Abdus Sattar Edhi made his name only by service to humanity.”

MBBS, BDS classes to start from 22nd

MBBS, BDS classes to start from 22nd Peshawar February 16, 2021 LAHORE: First-year MBBS and BDS classes in government medical and dental colleges of Punjab will start from February 22 while in Azad Jammu and Kashmir from March 1. The decision was taken at a meeting of vice-chancellors and principals of public sector medical and dental institutions held here at the University of Health Sciences (UHS), on Monday. The meeting was chaired by UHS Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram. It was also decided that traditional white coat ceremonies would be held in all medical and dental colleges. The meeting also decided that no poor student would be denied admission just because of non-payment of fees. The University of Health Sciences will pay the fees of such students on the recommendation of the college principal.
