As the COVID-19 outbreak in Cambodia worsens by the day, Vietnamese doctors and staffers at Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital are spreading themselves thin to provide medical care and vaccines against the pathogen for the local community.
The number of coronavirus cases in Cambodia has so far surged past 11,000, with daily spikes recorded in the hundreds, while its fatalities have risen to 82, according to statistics.
“The situation is still intense, as daily caseloads are not going down, while the [Cambodian] government has done everything they could,” said Ton Thanh Tra, director of Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital, the Phnom Penh branch of Ho Chi Minh City’s largest general hospital Cho Ray, in a recent phone discussion with

Vietnamese Embassy in India redoubles citizen protection efforts amid COVID-19 fight

Locations shut, dozens more Covid-19 positive

The Ministry of Health has closed 23 locations in connection with the February 20 community transmission of Covid-19 and summoned for testing anyone who had direct contact with affected people and places. The number of discovered related infections has risen to 76, including 39 women.
In a press release, the ministry listed the names of venues whose operations have been temporarily suspended, including the nightclubs N8, The Bridge Club, Love (in Boeung Raing commune, Daun Penh district), The World KTV, Jin Zun KTV, Coco Club and Hotel, Celeste Sky Bar and Club 168.
