After releasing its first official image a couple of weeks ago, Honda has finally debuted the 11th-gen Civic in the USA, revealing the production car’s specs and interiors. The 2022 Civic, which looks like a cleaner version of its aggressively styled predecessor, is offered in four variants LX, Sport, EX, and Touring.
Despite the downward trend, the Civic was the eighth-best-selling vehicle in the U.S. last year, according to Cox Automotive, which owns Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader. It trailed, in order, the Ford F-series, Chevrolet Silverado, Ram pickup, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Equinox.
With fuel efficiency gains and a simplified interior, Honda is aiming to regenerate interest in a nameplate that debuted to Americans in 1973. The new Civic goes on sale this summer.

Honda Civic generations tend to alternate between revolution and evolution. The outgoing 10th-generation car took big steps forward in terms of styling and performance, so it stands to reason that its successor features a more conservative redesign. Given the new 11th-generation 2022 Civic’s more mature looks, we think that’s a good thing. The new model boasts cleaner styling, carryover engines, and plenty of new features and upgrades that should result in a useful improvement.
