New Delhi, April 4 : Amid massive surge in coronavirus cases in the national capital, the hospitals are now witnessing increase in admissions of patients, with Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital administration asserting that more patients with severe infection are now getting admitted.
The capital city has recorded a nine-fold spike in coronavirus cases in the last three weeks. It recorded over 3,500 new cases in the last 24 hours, as opposed to 407 cases on March 15. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has admitted that the fourth wave of the pandemic is raging, but ruled out imposition of a lockdown.
At several places, people had started gathering at the facilities at 9 AM although booking for the first dose slot on the CO-WIN portal was scheduled to start at 12 noon on Monday. Officials had on Sunday said from Tuesday onwards, the booking will be open from 9 AM to 3 PM. I am perfectly confident about the vaccine. After all, the PM also took it today. However, getting registered is a problem. I tried the CO-WIN portal at home but it was not working, and now the staff at the hospital is insisting that we need to be registered, said retired Air India employee Rajesh Kumar Chandhock (64) at Poornima Sethi Multi Speciality hospital at Kalkaji.

New Delhi, Feb 13 : Not much excitement could be seen among health workers who are scheduled for the second dose of Covid immunisation on Saturday. The second dose immunisation started with a low turnout at many key hospitals of the national capital.
Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital said that only 10 health workers have confirmed to get the second vaccine shot so far. The rest have given several excuses like busy schedule and on leave. However, we are following up with them, said Dr Chhavi Gupta, media spokesperson of the hospital.
Delhi gears up for full-scale vaccination of frontline workers

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IANS): Three weeks into the Covid immunisation drive, Delhi started to vaccinate its frontline workers on a pilot basis since Thursday at select vaccination centres to test the process before rolling it out full scale from Saturday, officials said. The frontline workers were permitted from Thursday, on a pilot basis on some select vaccination booths in each district, as from Saturday, the vaccination of the frontline workers will start on full scale, a senior government official told IANS.
The official also said that the pilot run went smooth and no discrepancy has been found in the mechanism so far.
