Southern Illinois University Carbondale will celebrate the achievements of eight individuals with honorary degrees and distinguished service awards during commencement ceremonies May 7-9 at Saluki Stadium. Dr. Ngozi Ezike, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, will receive an honorary Doctor of Community Health degree during ceremonies honoring College of Applied Sciences and Arts graduates at noon May 8. The eight individuals, including Ezike, received SIU Board of Trustees approval. Spring 2021 ceremonies will be in person, following protocols of the Restore Illinois Plan. Quincy High School plans prom for May 29, graduation for June 13

By Jim Measel Apr 20, 2021 11:37 AM QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – As of now, Quincy High School is planning to have a Prom on May 29 at The Ponds in Coldwater as well a June 13 graduation. High School Principal Amanda Webb reported to the Quincy School Board on Monday night that the prom will follow COVID-19 protocols. Those who attend will be tested and regulations from the Community Health Agency on the wearing of masks will be followed. No prom dinner will be served. Graduation is scheduled for Sunday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. outside on the football field with each senior receiving four tickets.

Good Citizens Recognition Ceremony for 2021

Hillsdale Daily News The U.S. 12 Heritage Trail Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual Good Citizens Recognition Ceremony for 2021 school year recently at the Quincy Village Picnic Pavilion. The DAR group represents Hillsdale and Branch counties and all members are descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers. For the 2021 school year, 14 schools across Hillsdale and Branch counties participated in the Good Citizens Award. The administration at each school chose an outstanding senior who exemplifies dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. Selected students were invited to compete in the local essay contest. This year, the essay title given to the students was “Our American Heritage and Responsibility for Preserving it. The focus question of the essay was, “How do the combined actions of so many good citizens keep our nation moving forward?”
