The National Leadership Conference for the Business Professionals of America included 28 local students.
Business Professionals of America is a youth organization which provides leadership and business opportunities for middle school and high school students to prepare them for their future careers. The skills that students learn through participating in a variety of business experiences are beneficial and will help prepare students for a career in the workforce, coach Mindy Eggleston said.
The conference took place virtually from April 26-May 8, 2021; over 6,000 students across the nation participated. At this conference, students participated in business related events and competed for the top spots. Hillsdale Community Schools had a total of 28 students who placed in the top ten of the nation.

The U.S. 12 Heritage Trail Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual Good Citizens Recognition Ceremony for 2021 school year recently at the Quincy Village Picnic Pavilion.
The DAR group represents Hillsdale and Branch counties and all members are descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers.
For the 2021 school year, 14 schools across Hillsdale and Branch counties participated in the Good Citizens Award. The administration at each school chose an outstanding senior who exemplifies dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Selected students were invited to compete in the local essay contest. This year, the essay title given to the students was “Our American Heritage and Responsibility for Preserving it. The focus question of the essay was, “How do the combined actions of so many good citizens keep our nation moving forward?”
