ISP investigating shooting involving Kosciusko County deputies One suspect died and another suffered a gunshot wound after deputies with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT served a search warrant at a home in Wabash, according to Indiana State Police. Around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies served a search warrant at a home on E. Main Street in Wabash. After entering the residence, there was an exchange of gunfire between deputies and the occupants of the home. Roger D. Hipskind, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 35-year-old woman was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said it has not been determined whether Hipskind was shot by an officer or from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Friday, January 29, 2021 12:09 AM WABASH – The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) was involved in a police officer-involved shooting Thursday evening that resulted in one dead, one injured and two arrested in Wabash. No officers were hurt. According to news releases from the Indiana State Police, the ISP is investigating the shooting. The preliminary investigation by ISP detectives revealed that at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, officers from the KCSO SWAT served a search warrant at 63 E. Main St., apt. 3, Wabash. After officers made entry into the residence, there was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and the occupant(s) inside.
