LCSO deputies investigate stabbing in North Fort Myers

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is warning drivers of an increased deputy presence in North Fort Myers.
They were at the intersection of Coon Road and Donald Road in North Fort Myers and that intersection was blocked off from public use.
Authorities were in the area for about two hours to investigate a stabbing. LCSO says the stabbing suspect is in custody.
Lee County EMS was also on scene to offer medical care to the suspect.
Deputies advised drivers to avoid the area as they continued the investigation.

On April 1, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department reported that Sergeant Michael Mazerolle had been involved in a single car collision near Koon Road in Irmo, sending him to the hospital. This week, the department says they received medical reports that revealed a level of alcohol, prompting them to conduct an investigation. Upon completion of this investigation, authorities say Mazerolle was terminated.
“His behavior is inexcusable, and I will not tolerate that from my deputies,” Sheriff Lott said. “I hold my deputies to a much higher standard and anyone who works for me knows that I will hold them accountable.”

IRMO, S.C. (WIS) - A deputy is fighting for his life in the hospital after a crash in Richland County on Thursday morning, officials said.
It was a single-car crash near Koon Road in Irmo.
Crews rushed Sgt. Michael Mazerolle to the hospital, where he is in serious condition.
Officials have not said what caused the crash.
Sgt. Mazerolle has served with RCSD for 20 years.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
