BENGALURU: Karnataka primary and secondary education Minister Suresh Kumar on Wednesday said an appropriate decision will be taken soon on holding board exams in the state. Regarding holding SSLC (Class 10) and second year Pre-University (Class 12) exams, an appropriate decision will be taken at the earliest, the Minister said in a statement. He said discussions are underway with teachers, education experts and parents in this regard and an appropriate decision will be taken soon keeping in mind the health of the children and their future.

MANGALURU: Karnataka s Dakshina Kannada district reported 536 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, the lowest daily spike since April 27.
The district was recording a steady increase, with an average of 1,000 cases, after 486 fresh cases were reported on April 27.
The district saw 31,090 cases in May, which is nearly three times higher than the first wave’s monthly peak of 10,233 cases recorded in September 2020.
The district recorded five more fatalities during the day, taking the death toll to 918.
Meanwhile, the active cases have come down to 8,492, with 1,172 patients being discharged on Tuesday.
