Gov. Chris Sununu recently signed into law a $13.5 billion state budget. This budget was met with protests, a massive display of opposition online, and arrests of protesters who staged a sit-in. There are many detrimental aspects of the budget, however, one of the most concerning is its âdivisive conceptsâ ban.
The ban prevents teaching âthat the state of New Hampshire or the United States is fundamentally racist or sexistâ and âthat an individual, by the nature of their race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist or repressive.â
Proposed as a way to keep politics out of school, this ban restricts learning in practice. Limiting what is considered acceptable to teach diverts focus from learning the truth. Even without the ban, educational accuracy is flawed. CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio A judge on Friday set bond at $750,000 for a Cleveland man accused of shooting and killing a man Tuesday at Denison Park in Cleveland Heights.
Izaia White, 22, appeared by video Friday in Cleveland Municipal Court Judge J.J. Costello’s courtroom for his first court appearance. White is charged with aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and having weapons while under disability.
He’s due back in court for a June 18 preliminary hearing.
