The Delhi Fire Service responded to over 13,700 calls in the first six months of 2021, of which 8,700 calls were related to fire incidents, officials said on Sunday.

According to data, the fire department responded to 13,709 calls from January to June this year, of which, 8,730 calls were related to fire incidents.

A sample of human remains was recovered on Wednesday from a two-storey shoe godown in west Delhi s Udyog Nagar where a massive fire broke out last week, police said.
The fire broke out in the building, where shoes were assembled and packed for sale, on June 21. Thirty-five fire tenders and around 140 firefighters were pressed into service to douse the blaze.
