Campuses for Cheltenham Muscat, a 180-year-old institution for children between the ages of three and 18, and the 113-year-old Downe House Muscat, will set up their facilities in the capital in 2021. Their opening is subject to final approvals from the Ministry of Education, but applications for September 2021 have begun. The schools will be run in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, and the arrival of the two educational facilities has been welcomed by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimour Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.

The news came a week after the appointment of an allegedly corrupt officer, Shamoona Sadaf, as Director Outdoor Advertising in the DMC Central. ALSO READ It was found that the suspected officers received Rs. 400 per house for garbage collection. Further details suggest they also made undocumented recruitments for the district municipal corporation, all of which have been canceled. The three officers suspended on corruption charges include Director Sanitation, Muhammad Ali, Assistant Audit Officer, Ayaz Ali, and Nadeem Haider. As per sources, the local government has demoted the accused officers, and soon a probe from the National Accountability Bureau will be launched.
