Christopher Holder of Swallowfields, Warndon Villages, Worcester, denied a total of nine counts when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court in March. His trial, which is expected to last three days, is scheduled to start today. Holder faces a charge of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship, two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two common assaults, two charges of possession of an offensive weapon (knives), one of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and one of driving while disqualified.

The bulk of the funds will go to the Mooloolah River Interchange with $160m allocated with $7m to the Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade. There was no money made available for upgrading Sunshine Coast Stadium which has drawn criticism from the community and Sunshine Coast Council.

The federal government is poised to tip in half the cash for a major upgrade of one of the region’s worst intersections. The Coast’s budget windfall was revealed by Federal MPs Ted O’Brien and Andrew Wallace ahead of Tuesday night’s federal budget. The Morrison Government will allocate $160 million, half of the $320 million required to deliver the long-awaited Mooloolah River Interchange. Fairfax MP Ted O’Brien said the interchange was a state government responsibility, but the federal government was stepping in after “too much talk and too little action”.
