The federal government is poised to tip in half the cash for a major upgrade of one of the region’s worst intersections. The Coast’s budget windfall was revealed by Federal MPs Ted O’Brien and Andrew Wallace ahead of Tuesday night’s federal budget. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has laid out her government s funding demands from the upcoming federal budget due to be handed down on Tuesday. Chief on her wish list for the Sunshine Coast was a significant federal contribution towards the long-awaited Mooloolah River Interchange and a $20 million commitment to deliver Sunshine Coast Stadium expansion. On Sunday Ms Palaszczuk released the list of measures her government wanted to see in Tuesday s budget. The Premier and Treasurer Cameron Dick called on Prime Minister Scott Morrison to deliver for Queensland, citing the mass migration to the state, with figures showing more than 80 people a day shifted to Queensland in 2020, which they said demanded federal support.
