Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News) - A crash involving a car and a semi-truck sent a Dodge Center woman to the hospital.
The State Patrol says 49-year-old Dana Hickey was transported to St. Marys Hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries after her car collided with the semi-truck around 11:15 this morning. She was driving south, while the truck was traveling north on Highway 56 when the crash occurred about 2 miles northwest of Dodge Center.
The crash report indicates she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the semi-truck, 31-year-old Grant Eipers of West Concord, was seatbelted and was not injured in the collision.
Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors made the announcement yesterday afternoon that they would be opening up the lighthouse and keepers home to tours beginning as soon as Memorial Day weekend, which would end indoor restrictions placed on the historic site since COVID-19 hit Minnesota in 2020. I for one am pumped that it is opening back up for inside tours.
The post yesterday stated that:
Tower and House Reopening: We are pleased to announce that starting on May 28 the Split Rock Lighthouse Tower and Keeper’s House will be open for General Admission access.
Split Rock, came to be, according to the Minnesota Historical Society s website, after a November gale wrecked nearly 30 ships in 1905 prompted this rugged landmark s construction. When the U.S. Lighthouse Service completed Split Rock Light Station in 1910, it soon became one of Minnesota s best-known destinations.
