Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors made the announcement yesterday afternoon that they would be opening up the lighthouse and keepers home to tours beginning as soon as Memorial Day weekend, which would end indoor restrictions placed on the historic site since COVID-19 hit Minnesota in 2020. I for one am pumped that it is opening back up for inside tours.
The post yesterday stated that:
Tower and House Reopening: We are pleased to announce that starting on May 28 the Split Rock Lighthouse Tower and Keeper’s House will be open for General Admission access.
Split Rock, came to be, according to the Minnesota Historical Society's website, "after a November gale wrecked nearly 30 ships in 1905 prompted this rugged landmark's construction. When the U.S. Lighthouse Service completed Split Rock Light Station in 1910, it soon became one of Minnesota's best-known destinations."
